A Shoot With Friends…

I have met some great people in this industry & made some good friends.. Well it good to meet up from time to time, so I always look out for their workshops. Always a pleasure to shoot with friends, a little banter, sharing advice & trying out ideas.. And this one was no different, two of these good friends decided to hold one together, Michael Weeks & Brian Muir. Always a good source of advice or to bounce ideas off when you have one of these eureka moments…

IMX-5So the location & model was set, the day come & after a short run over the gear, we went off to Walthamstow Steam Museum. What a great location, tube carraiges, double deckers, steam engine & lots of odds & sods, everything metal, great building…

Most of the day we worked with single lighting, I was using a single Pixapro Citi 600 strobe, mounted on a decorators pole using a VAL 1420 spigot. Great for moving yourself & the light around quickly, with reflector or Pixapro’s 60cm Collaspable Softbox. Later with the light mounted on a lighting stand with a 90cm & 120cm Octobox.. Excellent for a larger softer light.

IMX-6During the day we had time to play with a few modifiers, gels & locations around the museum, it showed how easy it is to make a stunning shot from very little, a window, doorway, even the odd double decker.. & of course the two great models.. Huge thanks.

After a good few hundred images, ideas drained & knees aching.. It was time to go home & see what we had. For me another successful shoot, great to catch up with friends, always cool to shoot with friends in a brilliant location, excellent models & best of all, capture a few quality shots..

Thanks for reading..
